How was Fashion Care born?
This project arises from the need to offer alternatives that generate solutions to problems commonly found in patients facing any type of convalescence or disability. We have all been or have a close family member in a similar situation and unfortunately we realized that all the medical part and steps to follow can be found anywhere but we have forgotten to be able to provide the patient with comfort, functionality and, above all, take care of their dignity in periods difficult.
We would like to tell you a brief summary of the story of a patient diagnosed with breast cancer. Having all the doctor's instructions about the operation that had to be performed, she, like any other person, packed her most beautiful nightgown/gown set in her suitcase, thinking that she would use it after the surgery since she thought the recovery would be similar to that of giving gave birth to her baby. In conclusion, the woman was very far from what would actually happen where the only thing she could use were the typical hospital gowns where not only your body but part of your dignity is exposed. We had several testimonies from people with motor disabilities, missing parts of the body or very limited mobility, which motivated us to contribute our grain of sand.
